A Prayer for Being Afraid
Do you feel paralyzed sometimes? Get scared when you feel uncertainty?
We live in a world where things can be unpredictable.
I get afraid to try new things, when I am not certain of what the outcome may be.
Sometimes, I will push through that feeling. I believe the pain of being afraid and trying anyways, is better than the pain of not trying and always wondering “what if”?
What causes you to be afraid?
- Something won’t work
- Will be embarrassed
- May lose money
- Will look stupid
- Could get hurt
- What will people say
- Could offend someone
- Unsure of the outcome
- It could be too hard
- Not what I thought it would be
There are so many negative thoughts that can stop us in our tracks. Will you allow these thoughts to keep you from the possible positive outcomes?
In a matter of a couple minutes, we can talk ourselves out of something. What was once an awesome idea, can in a blink of the eye be anything but the right idea. Why are we afraid to start something new?
Asking God for direction, and affirmation can be the key.
Let’s stop depending on will power and use God’s power!
This prayer for being afraid can also be done while tapping. Move from point to point with each line of prayer. Keep tapping until you feel a change in your body or thoughts, or a new idea comes to your mind.
Folding our hands, bowing our heads, kneeling, and tapping, are ways for us to focus on God and giving full attention to the conversation.
My hope is that through each of these tapping sessions and times of prayer, our listening for wisdom and answers will be more predominant than our words or cries for help.
Children go to parents with their concerns, and if they keep talking well after they have expressed their concerns, they will be stuck in the worries. Allowing a parent, a friend, or God to have a chance to reflect on the conversation, and possibly have a word of wisdom to share, can give comfort and even a new perspective.
Imagine each time we work on our fears and what we are afraid to face, our world opens up a little bit more. More possibilities, more people to help, more reward.
Keep praying, keep tapping, keep positive.
I believe in you!
